House Concert featuring Ebony Nicole and Una (click the link for details)
Do you enjoy great live music? Are you a fan of the arts who wants to support local musicians? Would you enjoy an evening out, right here in Broadway?House Concerts at the Village Arts Center are always intimate, acoustic opportunities to meet and listen to the music of a wide variety of musicians. There is no ticket or cover fee to enjoy our house concerts, but we do suggest that our guests bring some cash to purchase merchandise or to make a contribution to the 'tip jar' to show their appreciation for the time and talent of the performers. (All donations go directly to the musicians!)
Our April concert is going to feature two artists, each performing a 45 minute set. Read more below to learn about Ebony Nicole and Una. Then plan to join us on April 13th in a cozy, casual atmosphere for some great music.
Ebony Nicole is a local singer songwriter. She has been writing music since age 12 and was recognized for an original song titled “show me” at a Richmond, VA talent showcase at age 13 and recently her 2018 single ‘High and Dry’ was awarded a special mention in the United Kingdom Songwriting Contest in the singer-songwriter category. She has put out a four track EP project in 2016, that is available for download at: www.reverbnation.com/ebonynicole. She is currently taking time to write for her next EP project, coming summer of 2019.
Una Ulla is a singer and vocal coach from Latvia. She will be playing the kokle, a Latvian traditional instrument and performing her arrangements of old Latvian folk songs. Una is currently teaching voice in Staunton, Queen City Music Studios and The Front Porch in Charlottesville. Latvian Folk is a growing passion of hers that she shares with people all around the world. She says “It is how I stay Latvian no matter where I am.”
