FIELD TRIPS FOR FAMILIES WHO HOMESCHOOL: Observational Drawing: May 10 from 9:30 - 10:30
We love homeschool families! Providing art education in a casual, relaxed setting for children from aged 5-17 at the same time is challenging and WONDERFUL at the same time. The Village Arts Center provides at least one art class per month that is reserved for homeschool students. We discuss art history, learn some new techniques, explore a variety of materials, and enjoy some time to work in the art studio. Lessons are designed so that it is appropriate for all ages. (We have TWO studios now, so older students and younger students have the opportunity to work on variations of the same lesson plan simultaneously.)
These classes usually fill up quickly, so please make your reservation by completing your online registration using the "shop now" button on this link. (*You will need to purchase a 'ticket' for each child who will be participating in the class. PLEASE inform us about the name and age of each child when you register! There is no fee for adults to participate.)
During THIS Field Trip, each child will be guided to observe objects found in our present natural environment. Attention to line, proportion, color and alignment will be discussed. This class will enhance critical thinking, vocabulary, observation, problem solving skills and creative design elements.
